Following the success of previous years, they are opening entries for the 2020 edition.

 

Following the same format as previous years with some great roads, tracks and byways around the area.


Suitable for cyclocross, gravel and mountain bikes.


There will be three route options: 50km, 75km and the tough 100km

RSPB Go Wild Spring Sportive - Sunday 1st March

Suffolk’s Wild Coast, with RSPB Minsmere as the beating heart. A network of beautiful wild spaces just waiting to be explored. RSPB Suffolk Go Wild Sportive is the best way to get out on your bike and find these hidden gems. Country lanes, sandy tracks, rooty singletrack, open heath, forest fireroads, vast wetlands, mud, loam, gravel: all to be found on route. This is a route that suits almost any kind of bike that is home off road – from CX race bikes to bouncy full sussers or your favourite old hardtail, the choice is yours. Just make sure that whatever you choose to ride you don’t mind if it gets wet, muddy and dusty and that it is up to the task.

Suffolk Spring Classic - Sunday 22nd March

Event Venue: Rowley Mile Racecourse, Cambridge Road, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 0TF

 

Enjoy a ride out from the Newmarket Racecourse by entering the Suffolk Spring Classic Sportive. It's the perfect warm-up event for longer and more challenging rides later on in the season, suiting all abilities of rider. Fully supported and fully route marked, you won't have to worry about anything other than riding.

Beccles Cycle for Life - Sunday 10th May

The next Beccles annual charity cycle ride event will take place on 10th May 2020, setting off from Sir John Leman High School. Event entry will open in January 2020.

The event is run by the Rotary Club of Beccles, with profits from the event split equally between the East Anglian Air Ambulance (Reg. Charity No.1083876) and Rotary Club of Beccles Charitable Trust (Reg. Charity No.1100871).

Suffolk Ride 100 - Sunday 17th May

The fabulous backdrop of Framlingham College and Framlingham Castle at the start of the Suffolk Sunrise 100 bike ride is a sight to behold.

One of the biggest charity sportives in the East, boasting over 900 riders, the Suffolk Sunrise has been a firm favourite fixture in the May cycling calendar for over a decade.

With flat and fast routes it is an ideal sportive for experienced riders to lay down an early season benchmark, and for newer riders to tackle a hundred-miler for the first time! Taking riders through the quiet coastal lanes of Suffolk the ride passes through many villages and towns with routes back to the Anglo Saxons.

Expect a great day in the saddle with the team on this Action Medical Research cycling event with first class support throughout the day. Help us raise vital funds to help sick and disabled babies and children.

Suffolk Coast & 100 Cycle Ride - Sunday 7th June

A Midsummer cycle ride beneath the endless Suffolk skies!


Take part in a beautiful ride through the heart of rural Suffolk, the setting for this superb annual event. Enjoy the sights of heathland, fields and coast of the Suffolk countryside through quiet country lanes, on a choice of either 35, 65 or 100 miles. Medal for every finisher!

Suffolk 100 - Sunday 14th June

Three wonderful routes take in a variety of Suffolk’s best scenery, from forest and coast to quiet countryside lanes. Whether you’re a seasoned spinner, or just enjoy cycling on a weekly basis there’s a route for you.

They’ve decided to start the Suffolk 100 from the county’s reigning “Most Active Town”, Kesgrave. Situated on the edges of Ipswitch, The HQ, Kesgrave Community and Conference Center is not only easily accessible by road and rail but also offers riders virtually traffic free access to the wonderfully quiet country roads this sportive has to offer.

 All food and drinks at their famous feedstops are FREE as well as parking (unlike other sportives).

Suffolk Fire Ride - Sunday 28th June

Felixstowe Fire Station and Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service invite you to take part in their annual cycle sportive, the Suffolk Fire Ride.  Starting at Felixstowe Fire Station, they are pleased to announce that this year’s routes will be set amongst the lovely rural lanes and beautiful rolling countryside found in this area of Suffolk.

The Suffolk Fire Ride is a friendly cycle sportive suitable for all levels of riders. They hope you will join them and enjoy some spectacular Suffolk scenery and good grub on your return to the start.

The Edge - Sunday 12th July

The Edge is an exciting cycling challenge event in aid of the Hospice, taking place on 12 July.

The event features four routes offering beautiful views of the West Suffolk countryside, starting and finishing at Maglia Rosso Cycling Centre, in Hawstead.

The routes are achievable for all cyclists, but a little bit of training beforehand is advised. Riders can choose to take on either 15 miles (our new family-friendly route), 30 miles, 60 miles or 100 miles. The routes will be chip-timed for those who fancy adding a competitive edge to their ride.

Cycle Swarm - Sunday 19th July

The 6th Ipswich Cycle Swarm is on Sunday 19th July 2020. Choose from 25, 50 or 100 mile routes that start and finish at Christchurch Park. All riders are welcome, so whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a beginner there is a route to suit you.

The routes head out of Ipswich and pass through Woodbridge before the 50 and 100 mile riders split off to head out to Framlingham and Dennington. All routes pass through some lovely towns and villages before heading safely back into Ipswich.

On return you will receive a bespoke medal and certificate and free event photos from their photographer. There is also professional mechanical support, first aid and free fruit, cakes, scones and sweets at the rest stops.

Parking is also available for the event on Portman Road. It’s £5 to park all day

Crafted Classique - Saturday 8th August

The Crafted Classique, in association with British Cycling, returns for its seventh year with 55km, 100km and 100mile courses through the picturesque Suffolk countryside. Savour a complimentary coffee and a bacon roll on the start line before taking in fabulous views on this timed event. Reward your efforts with a delicious burger and a refreshing beer on the waterfront.

Wickham Market Sportive - Sunday 6th September

An event for all levels with routes to suit all 25 miles, 50 miles and 75 miles.
